Cluj-Napoca is the most important educational and cultural centre of Transylvania. Botanical Garden (The Botanical Garden was founded in 1920, it spreads over 14 hectares of hilly land, which favors the growth of extremely diverse types of plants( over 10,000 distinctive groups), coming from every corner of the world.) The Cluj-Napoca National Theatre (The National Theatre in Cluj-Napoca, Romania is one of the most prestigious theatrical institutions in Romania. It was built between 1904 and 1906 by the famous Austrian architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer.)
Saint Michael Cathedral (The Gothic-style Roman Catholic church of Saint Michael stands majestically in the very heart of the city dominating the surroundings with its 80 meter tower. It was built between 1350 and 1487.) Astronomical Observatory (The first astronomical observations were made at the first university observatory, built between 1920 and 1934. Since 1982, the Observatory has been carrying its activities in a new building, located in the south part of the Botanic Garden.)
